Meredith in Brief

Meredith Atwood is a former attorney, author, podcaster, speaker, 4x IRONMAN triathlete, and coach (endurance, strength, life, career).

Her first book, Triathlon for the Every Woman: You Can Be a Triathlete. Yes. You. has reached must-read status for beginner triathletes and anyone needing to find their way off the couch.  After completing her first IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon as a normal, non-endurance-athlete-mom of two very young kiddos, Meredith set out to show women and men that they could do anything–in the body they have right now. Her approach and philosophy to fitness and training has been ground-breaking–making fitness (and even sport) approachable and achievable for the every person. Four IRONMAN triathlons later, Meredith has traded in her bike shoes for a lifting belt–and is getting back to her roots of strength training.

Her new book, The Year of No Nonsenseis now available everywhere books are sold.

In Her Own Words:

“In 2010, I was out of shape, addicted to alcohol, seriously overweight and lost in my own body, and mind, and world

I found the sport of triathlon (swim, bike and run) — and I had no idea what a life-changer it would be.

Triathlon did NOT solve all the problems. Little by little, though, I came over and through some big things–including quitting alcohol and the legal profession.  I came to love triathlon because it showed me three amazing things about myself.

These three things are inside the core of every person – they just have to begin to believe:

1) I am relentless;
2) I am worthy;
3) I am limitless.

I founded “Swim Bike Mom” which started out as a blog to just share my story–with one reader, my mom.  Little by little, it grew into a small forum. Then a larger one. Then a community – and sometimes a revolution. #YearOfNoNonsense

Remember:

There is better for us out there… and it comes through a journey of self-discovery, hard work and discipline–and most of all, forward motion.

The mantra, “Just Keep Moving Forward” is at the core of it all–as it has been for over ten years:  no matter what, we keep moving forward, doing the best we can with what we have.”

Love to you all,
Meredith
