I have always thought of freedom as doing what I want to do. All me, all my ideas and all my time.  Freedom.  I DO WHAT I WANT! I AM FREE!

I learned today that sometimes freedom is defined otherwise. Freedom is taking a step in the right direction. Doing something that is hard/scary/unfamiliar in the moment, but better in the long run.

Freeing myself from a future of missed expectations. A future of excuses. A future of “what ifs.”

Freedom is having the ability to say, I will make the right choices for myself and my family.  And I will do this by letting go of things that are holding me back. Even if these things are perceived and not real.

Today, I feel that I am on my way to freedom.

“Someday, we’ll forget the hurt, the reason we cried, and who caused us pain. We will finally realize that the secret of being free is not revenge, but letting things unfold in their own way and own time.  After all, what matters is not the first, but the last chapter of out life which shows how well we ran the race.
So smile, laugh, forgive, believe, and love all over again.”
