Hi folks! Update from me….Virginia….This morning I did NOT go to the gym…or run…or bike…or anything. I had all of my stuff out to go in for a swim, but I didn’t get up and do it. I knew last night that there was only a 50/50 shot that I would drag my bum out of bed to do it……and I didn’t. SO…as I was getting the kiddos moving I said to my husband, “I hate it when I don’t work out. I instantly feel fat.” His remark was….. (wait for it)…..
“It’s ok to take a day off. You aren’t training for anything anyway.”
Ok, so technically he is right. I am not training for anything…..specific…..but I’m ALWAYS in training. Geeesh! I do have a half marathon tomorrow, but I’m just running to finish it. I have no expectations of speed or time. So, I am not training for anything. I hate that. I need a plan.
My tentative plan is to do a HIM distance race in April in Charleston and then to begin training for HIM Augusta again and Ironman Florida (provided I get in). BUT…since I am not registered for ANY race, it is hard to call that a PLAN. I’m going to train as if it’s real anyway.
As I knew I would be, I am in a post-HIM funk and need to snap out of it!
I also REALLY want to get the kiddos excited about triathlon again. Right now they are so engrossed in soccer, that anything TRI-related is on the back-burner. Both middle boys are in a running club at school, and both are also on a year-round swim team, so they are engaged in 2 of the 3 disciplines, but I need to figure out a fun way (and find some extra time) to bring them all together. Soccer is eating my time away (oh, and working, parenting, and my personal training). GEEESH!
Have I said that already? GEESH!
Ok….so I need you guys to motivate me. GO! (seriously……………….)
