Hi folks! Virginia here. I decided this week that I am a triathlon nerd. I guess I could say that I am preoccupied or consumed by triathlon, but I think calling myself a nerd sounds better. So, I am asking you to fill in the rest of this sentence by posting your own response.

You know you are a triathlon nerd when…..

Here are a few of my answers…..

1. You know you are a triathlon nerd when you watch an Ironman on your computer and take a picture of Andy Potts crossing the finish line (which is actually just a blurry picture of the computer).

2. You think the most awesome news on Facebook should be the brick you just finished.

Pre-dawn brick (ride, run on track, ride, run in neighborhood)

3. You know you are a triathlon nerd when your idea of redecorating is moving the bikes in your living room to a different part of the living room.

Bicycles make a messy living room look more interesting. Maybe?

As I continue to train for Ironman 70.3 Augusta, I find more and more things that let me know I am a triathlon NERD. So, what are your nerdish behaviors?

  1. Ha! My bikes adorn my living room as well! As the furniture gets moved, they find a new home each time. Another tri nerdism is carrying every conceivable training apparatus in the back of your car…goggles, towels, swimcaps, water bottles, bike pumps, bike gloves, helmet and shoes.

  2. Me too! I took photos of Andy crossing the finish line too! But hopefully he will be placing a medal around my neck at Timberman!
