After finishing St. Anthony’s Oly triathlon (and not finishing last), I thought I would be feeling d-o-n-e, and satisfied.  Don’t get me wrong, I am stoked to have finished the race.  I feel immeasurably blessed.

I had a great time with the race and the Expert. I am proud of the work I put into the training, and the result I obtained.

But this blessing begs the question: what’s next?

Several of you have emailed me and said, “Congrats! What’s next????”

Funny. I was thinking the same thing. Take a deep breath, save your “oh dear Lord” exclamations….

Wait for it….

Wait…

What’s next??

You got it.  Half Iron. Ironman 70.3.  Miami.  October 30, 2011.

1 mile swim, 56 mile bike, half marathon.

And this is the time that Coach Monster faints with exhaustion, and shreds his clothes in horror.

That’s right.  The registration has been paid.  The hotel booked. Here comes the Half Iron adventures of Swim Bike Mom  (oh, yeah… and the Expert too!)

Immediate Goals:
1) Shed 40 pounds.  As quickly and as humanly possible as humanly possible;

2) Work on the life/work/family/triathlon balance.   Which starts Friday with my new job (!); and
3) Soak up this amazing time:  the new addiction that is triathlon.

So, that’s what’s next folks!

You asked for it.  You got it!

This is the craziest adventure yet.  And the Expert shrugs his shoulders, saying, “Bring it.” That’s what I’m talking ’bout.

  2. WOW! You are a braver woman than I. Of course, you were far faster than I. I still have more business to do with the Olympic, but I will keep supporting you on this journey!

  3. Thanks you guys… I probably should have more "business" with Olympic… but I'm clearly not very right in the head. 🙂
