I want to thank you all for being my Swim Bike Shrinks over the past few months. I really considered changing the name of this blog in recent times, because there has been lots of soul-searching, namaste-inducing, psychological breakdowns and breakthroughs happening in this neck of the woods.

Lots of Swim Bike Whining and Crying… and less Swim Bike Running.

So thank you for listening to me.

As I woke up this morning and started off this Monday with a Pap smear (oh, is that too much info?), I was really feeling awesome.   (Queen. Starfish. Queen Smash.  Pap smear. Like we are surprised?)  What a way to start a Monday!  Put on this robe, opening in front.  Come on…

But yesterday, I was talking with the Expert and he’s all jazzed about April 13th’s Ironman 70.3 Florida (which, of course, I signed up for… but decided I would slink out of—-and which is coincidentally STILL OPEN, if any of you crazies want to join me!)

And the more we were talking, the more I started feeling the itch to get back on it.  Back on the 70.3 training plan–I can do these workouts—fast 7 miler on Saturday? Done!  Hard two hour trainer ride yesterday? Done! I have done this before–I can do this again…

But it will require me to get in the pool at some point.

Granted, I’m a little shorter on time than I would like… but in the interest of actually writing and blogging about–oh, I don’t know–TRIATHLON–for a change, I am throwing my hat back in the ring for Florida.

Why?

Because I am getting complacent and lazy.

This is not me.  (Well, this WAS me… before triathlon.  This is not the triathlon me.)

I need to be structured in my training, my regime, and to obsess about my food and take pictures of the things I eat and Instagram-feed-bomb people with my turkey chili and sweaty workout pictures. It keeps me motivated. It keeps you bored!  I’m here to help you.

Anyway, so eight weeks.   #BringIt2014

  1. Yay!! I’m so glad to see this!!! You totally keep me motivated! I am training for the Law Enforcement Memorial Bike to DC for May 9-13. 500 miles in 4 days, and Augusta 70.3 in September. I need LOTS of motivation when this weather is crappy and I have to get my workouts done indoors. Bring it!! Good luck with FLA70.3, we all know you will rock it!!

  2. Yay !!!!! I look forward to your posts, and will find the encouragement needed to get moving and train for my first 70.3 in September. This is great news 🙂

  3. That’s awesome, Meredith! I’m gonna find you on Instagram. Very excited that you’ll be busting your butt and writing about it… I need the motivation!

  4. I’m so like you ! I need the accountability of a race. I’m already afraid I’ll slack after Puerto Rico 70.3 (also April 13) so I need to pick a race to shoot for after that! I do think I’m going to do the goddess tri since I have family in Michigan. Good excuse to visit them 🙂

  5. Love it! As I sit here in my own little world crying about not knowing what the hell to do with myself you pop out this little motivational number! I guess I’ll go pull the trigger on registration for a few races. 🙂

  6. I love your posts so much – even though I’m in the UK us tri women have kindred spirits! I’m doing my first ironman this summer and loving your positive and inspiring vibes! Go chicks!

  7. Complacency…absolutely not! Good for you!

Speak of complacency…I finally confessed to my lover man dude that I wanted to start traveling an hour away to attend swim lessons then drive a hour back home and then a hour in a completely different direction for work! This is the only time I hate small town living. Anywho…thanks for the motivation and forcing all of us out of the comforting lazy complacent pit. You win at life!

  8. Feed bomb pictures all day long! You’re definitely helping others like me out there. I’m doing Ironman 70.3 St. George here on May 3rd!

  9. Awesome!! So glad you are going to do it! You have been an inspiration to me and many others, glad we can return the favor! And no….info about pap smears on a Monday morning….not TMI. I really don’t think there is such a thing as TMI with women! We all understand and empathize!!

  10. Thanks for being so awesome! I am thinking about taking a big leap of faith right now, and I just needed to read this. #complacencyisso2012

  11. You’ve got this! So glad that you are back at it. This morning while running my 6 miler through slush, snow and ice, I wanted to stop when I reached my van at 5.6 miles but I would not allow myself to stop, I ran around the silly little parking lot until I reached 6 miles just so I could check it off my training plan. Great job! Can not wait to read about the 70.3!

  12. Awesome! I just finished writing this morning on my blog that I am SIX WEEKS away from my first 70.3, so to read this post from you excites me very much! Now there is someone else in the world that I can share the last stretch of training with, who also writes about what they are doing, who also understands that most of the world and even most of those around us don’t give a flying crap about what it is we are doing! LOL

    YOU GO GIRL!!
