Virginia here! I have come up with what I believe is a very important list. I would love to hear some of your additions to this list.

Questions that I have decided NOT to ask during the Augusta 70.3

  1. Can I have fries with that?
  2. Where can I charge my iPod?
  3. How many alligators have you seen today?
  4. Do I look fat in this?
  5. Will you tell on me if I draft? I need a break!
  6. What time is happy hour?
  7. Will anyone know if I skip the second run loop?
  8. Does my singing bother you?
  9. Could you slow down so that we can run together?
  10. Is it hot out here to you?

I know MANY of you are going to be at Augusta, so letโ€™s see a show of hands. Whoโ€™s racing in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS in Augusta, GA?

  1. Someone was giving away bacon on the run course of the Timberman 70.3 last year. I didn’t have any though ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. I’ll be there… And I think I’m even in the same wave as you. This is my first HIM so I’m super nervous and to make matters worse, my knees are not cooperating with me right now and I may be forced to walk the run.

  3. Lori, when I did the 70.3 in Florida in May it was my first HIM. My stupid IT band had my knee throwing FITS, and I had to walk/run the whole 13.1. The GOOD thing was that many people seemed to be doing that. I never felt like a “slacker” for walking, because there were always walkers all around. While it wasn’t what I initially had in mind, I was just as thrilled with my finish. Give yourself permission to be happy with less than perfect. You’ll have a blast! I will be wearing my SBM kit, so come say hi if you see me!

  4. If I’m in your vicinity, I’ll join you when you’re singing. ๐Ÿ™‚ I came up with an awesome mantra and I can’t wait to rock it in Augusta!

  5. I am coming from Iowa for Augusta. Getting very nervous! Looking forward to meeting some people down there!
