Hit the pool early this morning for a fifty minute continuous swim workout.  I decide to push as hard as I could stand and put down a 2 mile swim (3250 meters).  I finished in just under fifty-seven minutes, hitting the one mile right at thirty minutes.  Obviously, I picked up the pace on the last mile.   I felt super strong in the water, which is nice.  It’s nice every blue freaking moon to feel strong.
Oh, I had a brick run off the swim.
So, after the swim, I began Operation Put on Capris and Sports Bra while Wet.  Ridiculous.  Every time I run after the swim, I swear I am going to remember the next time to wear my trisuit.  I can never get dry enough to properly squeeze myself into sausage-inducing clothing.  I finally got my sports bra over my head, only to have one boob sticking out the top.  Nice and supportive!
I put down a five mile run in fifty-eight minutes.  Again, no feat of fast, but that’s the fastest five miles I’ve ever run, at just around 11:35 minute mile pace, and in low Zone 3.
Considering I would have pushed a Zone 12 heartrate this time last year to run one mile. I’ll take it.

Tomorrow, the Expert heads out to his first sprint distance tri.  Yes, that is correct.  He is doing his first sprint distance after an Olympic.  No comments.

As his pre-race dinner, he made this (French dip, homemade wheat bread, and some sort of divine onion spread.)  I hope he can float in the water after this.

I am heading out in the AM for a scheduled forty-two miles on Antonia (my bike).  I am secretly thinking I may pull fifty (okay, so the secret is out, I guess).  Just because this week has been so awesome, I kind of want to end on a big high.  But I’ll have to see what tomorrow brings!

Saturday night…. The contrast of my pre-triathlon life to present is hilarious.  Saturday nights are now laying around, hydrating and resting for the big Sunday workouts (instead of pizza, beer, and midnight prank calls… okay, so maybe not prank calls…)
